Joanna and her loyal CEO, Sadie, enjoying the beautiful winter in Northern Ontario.

Hey, Lovely! I’m Joanna, but you can call me Jo.

I’m so glad you’re here!

I can totally relate to how you’re feeling. My whole life I’ve been a high-achieving perfectionist, trying to do everything right. I've been really hard on myself. Failure wasn’t an option, no matter what the cost to my physical and mental health.

So, in late 2016, I found myself 5 years into my dream job…but I felt like my soul was being sucked out from inside me. As a front line police officer, I based my self-worth and found pride in being hard-worker, on going above and beyond and showing kindness, compassion and generosity while doing it. On the outside I was positive and willing to do anything. But on the inside, I was dying. After so many years of trying to keep myself together, I was completely burnt-out, stressed, and I had no energy left to speak of. I felt entirely depleted both emotionally and physically, and the anxiety and depression that I thought I had kept so well-hidden for many years, well….they didn’t stay so well-hidden anymore. I felt completely raw and like I had lost myself.

I got to the point where I no longer felt like I was living. I felt like I was just existing…surviving day-to-day. I knew something had to change. There was a passion burning inside that I knew I had to release. So, I took the leap.

"I didn't want to just exist, I wanted to thrive!"

I dove head-first into really figuring out what it means to be well. I experimented, read books, took different trainings, talked to mentors, pushed myself to get out of my comfort zone which meant…actually taking care of and investing in myself! And, believe me, it wasn’t just a steady uphill learning curve. But, I ultimately discovered how I can live my best, truest and most authentic life with my best health to support me.

Why me?

I have been where you are. I know what it is like to be completely exhausted, completely raw and on the verge of tears. I understand feeling like you have to be perfect and to keep it all together. I know the longing to be healthy and to allow my best self to shine, but being unsure of how to get there. You are not alone, beautiful.

That’s why I am so passionate about supporting you on your journey from Surviving to Thriving. Because you have something amazing to contribute to the world, but you need your health to do it.

And hear me when I say…YOU ARE WORTH IT!

A little more history, if you're interested!

While working as an elementary school teacher and Police Officer through my 20s and early 30s, I was always contagiously enthusiastic about movement, nutrition and general health. But when my own health began to decline due to stress and depression, real wellness began to take on a whole new meaning for me. Through my own journey, I have discovered tools, strategies and techniques that allowed me from to shift from simply existing to really thriving...and now it is my goal to support you in doing the same!

After years of passionate research on nutrition, fitness, mental health and wellness, I’ve realized that it’s time to turn my passion into practical knowledge for the real world - skills that you can use in your everyday life that help you increase your energy, reduce stress and successfully (and simply) manage symptoms of depression so you can live the life of purpose and contribution you KNOW in your heart you're meant to live.

In April 2017, I completed by Health Coach Certification  through Health Coach Institute (HCI) where I gained the skills and knowledge to really help you TRANSFORM your health and your life without overwhelm. I have a purposeful plan with proven results to really allow you to get to where you want to be. I am currently continuing my coaching education through HCI at their graduate level, so that I can be the most effective coach in service to you.

In May 2017, I resigned from the Ontario Provincial Police to fully and whole-heartedly pursue my passion for coaching amazing women like you. And I don't regret it for a minute!

Here's a bit about me in a nutshell:

I love dogs (especially Sadie and her new older brother Jack). I love walking, riding my bike and moving in general. I love to laugh. I love music (shout out to piano players everywhere!). I love my family. I just love people. Which is why I do what I do. I am passionate about supporting people on their journey to better health and helping them find the life they've always dreamt of along the way.

What the heck is a health coach?? Before I became one, I wondered the same thing. Hopefully THIS helps!
